Dr. Uyen M. Tran graduated from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 2003. She completed her undergraduate work in 1998 at the University of Houston, too, majoring in Biology with a minor in Psychology. Dr. Tran did her externship at Plano Eye Associates with Drs. Kim Castleberry and Joe De Loach, specializing in primary optometric care and management of ocular pathology. She also trained in primary ocular care at the Kenner Clinic in Fort Lee, Virginia. During her tenure at the University of Houston College of Optometry, she was a teaching assistant in neuro-ophthalmology. Dr. Tran received an honorary certificate for ocular anatomy in the TEXACOP program. 

Today, Dr. Tran practices the full scope of optometry. She is board certified to practice therapeutic optometry. She is also a licensed optometric glaucoma specialist and can help manage and treat this silent eye disease. Dr. Tran is well-trained to treat "red eye", and specializes in the fitting of contact lenses in complex cases such as keratoconous and post-LASIK procedures. She has experience, too, fitting Xynergeyez and CRT lenses, the latter a contact lens that corrects vision while the patient sleeps. 

For the last five years, Dr. Tran has been an associate of Dr. Frank Lee (O.D.), who practices at Today's Vision Sharpstown and Silverlake. Her mission is to give her patients the best eye care and educate them on advancements in the optical and medical aspects of optometry. She is attentive and sensitive to her patients' needs. Dr. Tran loves caring for children and the elderly. 

A Texan since 1981, Dr. Tran is a rock climbing enthusiast.
